About UsWith over 14 years of experience working with children and young people ranging from 0-18 years of age, Advanced Childcare has built up an excellent reputation of providing best value placements to a large number of local authorities by providing flexible, individualised and high quality care along with demonstrable outcomes for young people. Testimony to this is the fact that we currently run 14 highly successful children’s homes for 5 local authorities under 6 separate ‘block contract’ arrangements. Advanced also operates a registered special school which provides full time education to day pupils and those young people living in our children’s homes. The organisation has two highly regarded fostering agencies, one based in the North West and one based in the West Midlands. At Advanced Childcare we specialise in working with young people who have complex emotional needs that are often expressed through challenging behaviour and attachment difficulties. Through a variety of placement choices ranging from fostering, solo placements, dual placements, 3, 4, 5 to 6 bed children’s homes, we offer Local Authorities solution focused care. The level of support we provide is determined by the presenting needs of the young person. Individual care programmes are designed to meet contemporaneous needs. As the young person achieves his/her outcomes and develops socially, morally, educationally and spiritually, the care programme is amended to suit these needs. At Advanced Childcare, our approach to childcare is based upon an ethos of providing unconditional positive regard to young people and promoting positive behaviour through praise, reward, stickability and mutual respect. We work on the principles of good authoritative parenting based on safe, firm and consistent boundaries. Young people in our care are actively encouraged to contribute to their Personal Plan to promote ownership of their placement outcomes. We also pride ourselves in working in collaboration with other key stake-holders through a multi agency approach, to ensure that the individual needs of the child as set out by the various assessments and plans as well as needs that may arise through the duration of the placement are fully met through an inclusive and participative approach. |
