Quality of CareAdvanced Childcare is very proud of its rapidly growing reputation for delivering outcomes for young people through the provision of the highest levels of quality care across its full range of services. Over the past 3 years, Advanced Childcare has been consistently rewarded for the strenuous efforts to build the quality of service that Looked After Children both need and deserve. These efforts have been recognised by the regulators of care standards, Ofsted. All children's homes and Independent Fostering Agencies are regularly inspected by Ofsted and they can award 4 levels of grading from Inadequate to Outstanding. In the past 3 years Advanced Childcare have had none of their provisions graded as Inadequate and in 2009-2010, 12 homes out of 24 were graded as Outstanding. Ofsted also awards children’s homes the special distinction of an Outstanding Provider Award. Only a very small percentage of homes in the country achieve this prestigious award and it is given following 2 consecutive Outstanding inspections over the period of a year. Following these rigorous inspections, a certificate and plaque is awarded to the home and staff and young people are always proud to receive this confirmation of quality practice. In 2007-2008 Advanced Childcare achieved their first Ofsted Outstanding Provider Award for a home we operate for a local authority in the West Midlands. Not only was it Advanced Childcare’s first award but it was also the first time this particular authority had ever received such an award for any of the children’s homes in which their young people live. In 2008-2009 the years of developing quality systems, the vigour of staff recruitment and the quality of staff training all came together and Advanced Childcare was awarded 5 Ofsted Outstanding Provider Awards. This is the largest number awarded to any care organisation in the country with the second placed organisation receiving 2 awards. A truly outstanding achievement. As 2009-2010 develops our aim was to at least match the extraordinary achievements of 2008-2009. By April 2010, we have already achieved and beaten this aim. Currently we have 8 homes that have been awarded the Outstanding Provider Award already this year. This quality kite mark is the symbol of the highest levels of planning, structure and delivery of care and once again Advanced Childcare leads the country in this achievement with a total of 12 Ofsted Outstanding Provider Awards. |
